OUR STORY

Julian was first settled in the mid-19th century with the discovery of gold. Fortune seekers, from far and wide, founded our mountain town rich in beauty and culture. Shortly after the gold rush, our lovely cottage was built and became the first home of Mr. and Mrs. Robinson in the 1920s. Through the years, the cottage transformed from home, to art studio, to antique shop.

In 1989, Thomas (Tom) Lynch turned the cottage into The Julian Grille to welcome all who passed through to come enjoy a wonderful meal, raise a glass in cheer, discuss the latest happenings, laugh with each other, and simply relax in this lovely Julian home.

Most days you can find Tom and his beautiful family (pictured here) greeting guests at The Julian Grille spending time getting to know each visitor that stops by.

Discover the joy of Julian. In between orchard visits, hiking excursions, and apple picking, we invite you to sit back, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and celebrate life's moments big and small.
